How will our children benefit?

Every child in Scotland is entitled to experience a broad general education.

Curriculum for Excellence applies to all children from their earliest contact with the education service until they leave school.  It applies in all educational establishments where children learn: nursery, schools, colleges and university and any other service working in partnership with education.

How will the parents/carers benefit?

‘Parents as Partners’ – your specialist expertise and knowledge of your child will benefit them greatly in their life of learning.  You can continue to support this through their curriculum by contributing to the following:

  • By attending our Parents Curricular Evenings

  • By becoming involved in our ‘Parents as Partners’ programme

  • By consultation with your child – ask them ‘what have you learned today’?

  • Offer to take part in playroom visits

  • Offer to get involved in nursery events
